Have Any Questions About Search Engine Optimization?

<img src="http://www.SEOrankings.com/wp-content/uploads/blue-question-mark.jpg” alt=”blue question mark” title=”blue question mark” width=”180″ height=”178″ class=”alignleft size-full wp-image-9113″ />In case you don’t already know; I started this site almost two years ago as a test blogging platform for myself and a place to share some of what I’ve learned along the way. I never had a real business plan or wrote down any particular long-term goals for it. I’ve just been adding content and tools as I think about them and have time.

But, ever since I released the <a href="http://www.SEOrankings.com/free-SEO-ebook”>free downloadable SEO book a few months ago, the subscriber count here has gone through the roof, that is, for a blog that only publishes a few posts each month and isn’t involved in hardly any other promotional methods. So, with so many new people now subscribing every day, I feel like I owe it to you to try and cover more of the topics that you’re most interested in and less of the random stuff that’s on my mind.

With that said, what type of information would be the most helpful for you? Is there anything in particular you would like me to write about? More SEO news, tutorials, videos, product reviews, or any tools you’d like to see here? Any particular technique you would like me to cover? Please be as specific or as general as you like. Just let me know of anything that would help you.

If you’re uncomfortable asking your question in the comments below, go ahead and send me your question or comment privately using this <a href="http://www.SEOrankings.com/contact”>contact form.

Please don’t be shy…. I’m really looking forward to hearing how I can improve this website and blog to better help you!

(P.S. I’m working on a new service for this website and expect to launch the beta version within the next few months. So stay tuned because all of our Aweber email subscribers will be the first to learn about it and receive a major discount for helping us test it out. To be one of the first to get notified all you need to do is <a href="http://www.SEOrankings.com/free-SEO-ebook”>download my free SEO ebook PDF. Social Media Optimization

The importance Of Social Media Optimization On SEO Ranking

Social Media Optimization (SMO) has become an important part of your SEO and SEM campaigns. Once social networking sites were not much more than an oddity. But today, many have received enormous ranking authority from the top search engines. If you are not leveraging these sites to improve your exposure and communicate with your niche consumer, your search engine positions are vulnerable to your competitors.

Search marketing has always been about exposure in the search engines to drive targeted traffic to your website. For years getting the basic SEO development of your site right and generating links pointing to your site did this for you. Both are still important today. Times have changed, social media optimization added a third element to search marketing.
Google once maintained several disparate search platforms for blogs, videos, news, and similar types of “social” content. Each functioned as a separate search engine with its own set of organic listings.
Then Google blended the listings from each platform into a system called Universal Search. Bing and Yahoo have since incorporated similar systems. Universal Search is now used as the primary index. That means blogs, videos, and news have been incorporated into the natural listings, pushing many sites off the first page. This is one of the reasons social media optimization has become critical to search.
Another factor that has influenced search ranking is the increased ranking authority given to Facebook, Myspace, Twitter, and similar sites. These too, have quickly gained control of a significant amount of search spots.
Social media optimization preserves your current natural listings while helping you to gain even more search exposure. By using blogs, videos, and social media sites such as Twitter and Facebook, you can capture a greater number of organic positions.
